h3. Wired Network Registration Update
On Thursday, August 9, at 10 p.m., the Office of Information Technologies (OIT) will clear the computer registration information for the wired network per the ND Information Security Policy. Following that change, if you use a wired network connection on the ND network you MUST log in to the network again using your NetID and password.
If you have the latest Cisco Clean Access agent installed, you will be prompted to login with your NetID and password. Cisco Clean Access is available for download here
We recommend that you shut down your computer at the end of business on Thursday, August 9. If you experience problems after the change, please reboot the computer before calling for assistance.
On Friday, August 10, if you are unable to access your email or other services over the network, reboot the computer. If the Cisco Clean Access agent does not pop up to prompt you to enter your NetID and password, then open a browser and visit any website. You should be redirected to the Network Registration page, where you can enter your NetID and password to regain network access.
During this process, you may see a message stating that a security certificate is not valid, or that information about the certificate is not available. In this case, it is safe to choose “Yes” or “OK” to complete authentication.

On Sunday, August 12, from 12:01 to 6 a.m., Office of Information Technologies (OIT) engineers will perform maintenance on many University information technology services.
As a result, you may not be able to access these services during this time. Services that will remain UNAFFECTED include:
- Exchange email service (you may experience slowness for one hour during the maintenance period)
- Internet access
- NetFile (including web sites hosted in NetFile)
- AFS (including web sites hosted in AFS)
Between 12:30 and 1:30 a.m., some campus building and facilities may experience temporary WIRED network outages. WIRELESS network access will remain unaffected.
