The University of Notre Dame is hiring experienced hotel and food service staff to fill 50-75 new jobs at the Morris Inn, which currently is undergoing renovation and will reopen in August.

Interviews for all positions will be held on campus at two job fairs on June 24 (Monday) from 4 to 8 p.m. and June 26 (Wednesday) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both job fairs will be held at the Jordan Hall of Science on Notre Dame’s campus, northeast of the stadium.

All applicants must complete an online application at prior to the job fairs, at which interviews will be conducted. Details and qualifications for the positions are available on the website.

Positions include servers, cooks, guest service attendants, bartenders, pantry associates, valets, managers, banquet servers, custodians and maintenance technicians.

After 60 years of service, the iconic hotel and restaurant closed last October for extensive renovation and expansion. The new Morris Inn will reopen in August with nearly double the workforce.

Many of the 120 positions at the new Morris Inn have been filled by the Inn’s previous employees, all of whom were offered other positions at the University during renovations.

“We decided from the beginning there would be no layoffs,” says David Harr, associate vice president for auxiliary operations.

“We’re proud that we were able to find other positions on campus for everyone who wanted to stay at the University while the Inn was being renovated.”

Highlights of the renovation include the addition of a 300-seat ballroom, three private dining rooms and larger guest rooms. The Inn will also contain a full-service restaurant and pub that will be open to the public.
