On Friday, Nov. 16 at approximately 10:30 p.m. the Office of Information Technologies (OIT) data center experienced an unexpected power outage that affected nearly all IT services on campus.
As a result of the quick reaction of many OIT staff members, critical IT services such as network connectivity and file storage services were back online within two to three hours. The remaining IT services were brought back online within 14 hours of the power outage.
Unexpected power outages can damage IT equipment, and problems may not immediately be evident. Today, OIT engineers are still checking and testing many of the OIT-managed services to verify that they are running properly.
If you experience an issue with any IT service, contact the OIT Help Desk at 574-631-8111 or email@example.com.
