The Office of Information Technologies (OIT) and Controller’s Office report that two problems have been identified in campus GLez and Finance Business Objects reports since the release of ODS 8.3 on Sunday, June 10.
The first problem is with data inconsistencies. This problem was due to a defect in the ODS and has occurred sporadically, causing both financial summary data and detailed financial transaction data to appear incorrect. We have implemented a workaround for this problem to ensure summary data is now correct for all fund types for all fiscal years. Detailed financial transaction data is also correct unless that data is for fiscal years 2005 to 2007. The reason for that is due to the second problem.
The second problem is with missing data. As a result of an ODS 8.3 setting, detailed financial transaction data prior to fiscal year 2008 was not loaded into the ODS during the release on June 10. We are working on a solution to this problem.
To summarize, all financial summary data for all types of funds is now correct for all fiscal years, and will be updated in the ODS, GLez and Business Objects nightly. Some financial detail transaction data may still appear incorrect, especially for grants and contracts that span multiple years and include transactions prior to fiscalyear 2008. RSPA and the Office of Research will work with you on a case by case basis if this data is needed in the short term.
OIT and the Controller’s Office are working diligently with Ellucian (formerly Sungard) to implement a permanent solution.
