Wired network registration

On Tuesday, August 6, at 6:00 a.m. (ET), Office of Information Technologies (OIT) network engineers will clear the computer registration information for the wired network. If you use a wired network connection on the ND network, you MUST login with your NetID and password to regain access to the network AFTER the registration information is reset.

To avoid a potential network interruption, take the following actions:

  • If possible, shut down your computer when leaving for the day on Monday, August 5. If you experience problems after the change, please reboot the computer BEFORE calling for assistance.

On Tuesday August 6, if you are unable to access your email or other services over the network, reboot the computer. If the Cisco Clean Access agent does not prompt you to enter your NetID and password, then open a browser and visit any website. You should be redirected to the Network Registration page where you can enter your NetID and password to regain network access.

During this process, you may see a message stating that a security certificate is not valid, or that information about the certificate is not available. In this case, it is safe to choose “Yes” or “OK” to complete the registration process.
