Sabine MacCormack MacCormack

The Office of the Provost has received word of death of Sabine MacCormack, professor of history, on Saturday, June 16. MacCormack, an historian who specialized in religion and culture in Roman society and colonial Latin America, was the Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh, C.S.C. Professor of Arts and Letters, with a joint appointment in the Departments of History and Classics.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday in The Cathedral of St. Matthew, 1701 Miami St., South Bend. There will be a public memorial service and a memorial Mass early in the fall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to: Bishop Crowley Education Fund, c/o The Cathedral of St. Matthew, 1701 Miami Street, South Bend, IN 46613.
