Greg and Renate Crawford, Road to Discovery

Greg and Renate Crawford reached Dallas on Friday after a 55-mile sprint from Greenville, Tex., that included 20 miles of the roughest road on the trip.

The day in Dallas was a microcosm of the 2,200-mile Road to Discovery. It included meeting a man who had two children with NPC, and who is very active in the National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation.

It also included a visit to the University of Texas Southwestern, where the NPC researchers and students were dressed in Road to Discovery T-shirts, and a dinner with Notre Dame alumni where Renate gave a report on the trip and Greg talked about initiatives in the University and the College of Science.

Greg and Renate will be welcomed back to South Bend with a parade that starts at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16 at the College Football Hall of Fame.
