Palladio, Albers exhibitions open at the Snite

An exhibition of the work of 16th-century architect Andrea Palladio opened Sunday, June 5 at the Snite Museum of Art.

“Palladio and His Legacy: A Transatlantic Journey,” showcasing 31 drawings, seven books, 15 models of related buildings and eight bas-reliefs, takes place in conjunction with a three-day conference, From Vernacular to Classical: The Perpetual Modernity of Palladio, sponsored by the School of Architecture.

In addition, selected works of Josef Albers from a print suite given by Jane and Jim Griffin ’45 will be on display in the Mestrovic Studio Gallery through Sunday, July 24.

The Snite Museum of Art is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The museum is closed Mondays and major holidays.
